MHS Marching Band Masters the Field in Marshall
Members of the MHS Marching Band prepare to take to the field on Saturday, September 18, a field they dominated at the Marshall, Minnesota marching band competition.
The only thing that could have made the Marshall, MN marching band competition more fitting for the Kernels on September 18 might have been had their opening set been The Ride of the Valkyries. The Marching Band, under the direction of Maestro Ryan Stahle, took first place in their class and won awards for best brass, best woodwinds, best overall general effect, and best visual effect. The combination of their new show, themed to the City of New Orleans (or Nawlins) and an enormous amount of hard work and talent from the students and their directors, led the Band to a stunning victory, musically outdistancing even two suburban Minneapolis schools.
Wish you could have seen what all the fuss is about? Just take in in the next Kernels varsity football game and enjoy the show during half-time between the gridiron action.
